Cotton Inc. and MTV.com Launch Style Search, 24-Hour Runway Show
Think you can give Kate Bosworth a run for her money? Here's your chance to prove it. (Don't forget: She sings, too!)
Cotton Incorporated is teaming up with MTV.com to give the public the chance to star in a runway show paying tribute to "The Fabric of Our Lives."
Running October 14 to 26, the Cotton Style Search will let fashion fans nationwide submit photos of themselves in their cottony finest on cotton24hours.mtv.com, with the 24 winning "cottonistas" being announced at noon on October 26.
There's a lot at stake here: The winners will be joining professional models on the catwalk at the first-ever Cotton's 24-Hour Runway Show, a rundown of 1,440 looks (that's one per minute) scheduled to hit South Beach, Miami from noon on November 19 to noon on November 20. (Anyone up for an all-nighter? We'll bring the Red Bull.)
The winners will also score a three-night trip to South Beach, a $350 American Express gift check to splash on a new cotton outfit, and a profile on MTV.com.
“Cotton is the everyman fabric,” says Ric Hendee, Cotton Incorporated Senior Vice President of Consumer Marketing, in a press statement. “Its many permutations and comfort fit into everyone’s lifestyle, whether you are a red-carpet celebrity or an as-yet-unsung fashion innovator.
“The runway show illustrates in a significant way the breadth of cotton fashion possibilities. No matter who you are, there is a cotton look that fits your lifestyle, 24 hours a day.”
May the best cottonista win!
