Sonia Rykiel Names April Crichton Creative Director
When Nathalie Rykiel, daughter of 81-year-old knitwear legend Sonia Rykiel, takes the runway at the end of the the French fashion house's show on October 1, she’ll do so with a new addition to the team.
April Crichton has been named creative director of the company’s main line, Women’s Wear Daily reports.
The Scottish designer has worked for the company since her graduation from Central Saint Martins and helped launch Sonia Rykiel’s bridge line, Sonia by Sonia Rykiel, in 1998.
The last creative director of the Sonia Rykiel main line was Gabrielle Greiss, who left the company in 2009.
Nathalie and Sonia have headed the design team since her departure.
