Prada’s ‘Real Fantasies’ Lookbook Video
Static photos are soooo last season.
Never one to disappoint on the film front (proof: the fashion house's Candy campaign and Spring 2011 dance party), Prada is taking its Fall 2011 lookbook to the next level by releasing a collage-style video "essay in handcraftsmanship," aptly called Real Fantasies.
Models in check-print drop-waist coats, shimmering paillette-flecked dresses, and furry designs move throughout a constantly shifting home as cars and the odd male model in a metallic top zoom through.
So, how did they do it?
"Artworks have been cut and assembled into miniature paper theaters: a handmade interior scenography," the label says in a press release. "Characters move collectively or alone through a sequence of diverse rooms–from abstract and transcendental, to intimate and realistic–silently engaging with shadows, unexpected materials, wall patterns, floating skies, or frames leading to other indeterminate spaces. The handmade effect of the imagery echoes the inherently haptic nature of the fashion it portrays."
The "motionbook" will be available on Prada.com, while 50,000 copies will be distributed in Prada stores worldwide.
Whatever will they come up with next season?
