Anne Hathaway in the latest Fall 2011 ad campaign for Tod’s
We never thought Catwoman was the type for driving mocs!
Anne Hathaway, who plays a feline supervillain in The Dark Knight Rises, looks every bit the femme fatale her character suggests in a campaign for the new Tod’s Signature Collection.
The ads, shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in London, feature Hathaway posing in a bright red convertible with some serious arm candy.
Separate from the luxury brand’s main line, the handbags themselves come in an ultra-textured leather—which is supposed to represent the signature pebble motif of Tod’s classic driving shoe.
“Anne Hathaway is the perfect representative of Tod’s new Signature Collection,” said Derek Lam, the company’s creative director, in a statement. “What makes this collaboration with Anne so perfect is that not only is she a young actress with accomplished roles to her credit, she is also one to watch for her creative choices. She generates excitement based on the quality of her work, modern beauty and intelligence.”
“I have been a longtime fan of Tod’s and was very excited to be a part of exploring a new side of their identity with the launch of their Signature Collection,” added Hathaway. “These are bags that age with you and never let you down … As a result, they don’t grow older, they only grow better, just like a woman.”
The campaign will run in October glossies, and the collection hits stores worldwide in October.
