Looks from J.Crew's Fall 2011 editors' preview

Every season brings a slew of new names to New York Fashion Week, but for Spring 2012, one very familiar brand is joining the lineup for the first time.

J.Crew, which traditionally has presented its collections for editors outside the fashion week schedule, has joined the official Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week lineup with a presentation at Lincoln Center on Tuesday, September 13.

Despite being held in the Studio, the smallest of Lincoln Center’s three runway venues, a J. Crew spokesperson confirmed to FashionEtc that it will indeed be a presentation format, scheduled to take place between 9:30 and 10:30 in the morning.

One thing’s for sure: What was once a preppy mall brand is now a full-fledged fashion player, led by president and executive creative director Jenna Lyons. The company recently teamed up with CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winners Billy Reid, Prabal Gurung, and Eddie Borgo for capsule collections, and its Fall 2011 collection, designed by head of womenswear Marissa Webb, has been lauded across the industry.
