Animal instincts: Roberto Cavalli's new campaign is fierce.
Talk about a tantalizing threesome: Roberto Cavalli’s Fall/Winter 2011 ad campaign features a modeling trifecta of Karen Elson, Natasha Poly, and Mariacarla Boscono.
Shot by the photography team Mert & Marcus, the trio poses in the label’s signature animal-print chiffon gowns, feathers, and fur.
The namesake designer explained that each model represented a Cavalli characteristic: sensuality, sweetness, and determination. The catlike Poly, wide-eyed Boscono, and flame-haired, newly single Elson look like they’ve wandered into the woods from an extravagant party.
“I think it’s very haunting and bewitching,” says Elson in a behind-the-scenes video of the campaign shoot. “The mood of it is very poetic in a kind of spooky sense… but it’s Cavalli, it’s gotta be fun!”
