Carine Roitfeld to Attend Couture Shows—As ‘Customer’
She’s may no longer be the editor in chief of French Vogue, but that doesn’t mean she won’t be in the spotlight when the couture shows kick off in July.
Carine Rotifeld will be posing as a client for the fashion week, which runs Monday, July 4 through Thursday, July 7 in Paris, although something tells us it’s not likely she’ll be able to pull off going incognito. The editor-turned-author-turned-retailer-turned-stylist will be playing a little fashion experiment for the cameras of W magazine, who will be shooting her throughout for an upcoming story, Women’s Wear Daily reports.
According to WWD, Roitfeld will do more than attend shows (though not in the press section, it notes), she’ll attend fittings with designers—no word on who, if anyone, will be footing the bill for the couture pieces, which can easily run in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Paolo Roversi will reportedly be shooting the fashion game for the glossy.
