Jonathan Saunders has been named designer of the year at the Scottish Fashion Awards.

For the second year in a row, Jonathan Saunders has been named designer of the year at the Scottish Fashion Awards.

Though the guest of honor, British first lady Samantha Cameron, sported a design by Christopher Kane, that didn’t stop Saunders from picking up the prize—to his surprise.

"I've just been texting Chris Kane saying 'Sam Cam's wearing your dress, you're definitely going to win it!'” Saunders said as he accepted his award.

Other winners for the evening included Henry Holland for International Designer of the Year (though he doesn’t hail from Scotland, he’s used Scottish textiles in his designs), Tali Lennox, who was named Model of the Year, Hilary Alexander, who was named Fashion Ambassador 2011, and photographer Rankin, who was inducted into the Fall of Fame for 2011.
