Sex and the City 3, Rebecca Minkoff working on unicorn collection, and John Galliano designing supermarket fashion line ... April Fools!

Nice try, folks, but we’ll be taking our fashion news with a giant shaker of salt today.

The style set seems to be getting into the spirit of April Fools’ Day with a number of made-up announcements that sound (and, unfortunately, are) too good to be true.

FashionweekNYC was on a fake-out roll, tweeting that Sex and the City 3 was confirmed to launch in 2012 (nope!), Rebecca Minkoff is launching a unicorn collection (nay!), and Tom Ford is designing a line for H&M (previously rumored, but, alas, not so much).

Across the pond, LDN Fashion revealed that ousted Dior designer John Galliano would be making his comeback with a capsule collection for U.K. supermarket chain Asda—suspiciously slated to launch (ahem!) April 1, 2012.

"Galliano, who has been on a hiatus since being dismissed by Dior, is set to revamp the famous George line with three new capsule collections called John, Paul and Ringo," the site joked.

And wannabe models might want to hold off on glamming up their Twitter avatars. We suspect that the Ford Models Blog announcement that models would be signed based on their 48 x 48 pixel pics was a tad tongue in cheek.

Meanwhile, Marilyn Agency N.Y. quickly admitted that its Twitter announcement that it would open a men’s modeling division in New York City was a gag. Sorry, boys!

At least you can trust FashionEtc to tell the truth ... or can you?
