Uma Thurman Covers Harper’s Bazaar U.K., Talks Robert Pattinson and Awkward Phase
Can we just give Harper's Bazaar some props for giving 40-somethings some love this February?
While the U.S. edition features 49-year-old (not that you'd know it) Demi Moore on its cover, Harper's Bazaar U.K. is shining the spotlight on the always enchanting Uma Thurman.
Photographed by Mark Seliger, the 41-year-old actress shows off her mile-long legs in slinky gowns from Lanvin and Alexander McQueen for her Art Deco-style shoot.
And though we think the lady doth protest too much, the statuesque star blames her height for giving her an "awkward phase" for most of her life. As. If.
"People who grow too fast usually have a very long awkward phase," she tells the magazine. "Mine ended around 35."
Ha! Of course, Thurman might just be hard to please. For instance, the Oscar nominee also shrugs off praise for her Bel Ami love interest, Robert Pattinson.
"To answer the ubiquitous question about this movie, yes, Robert is good-looking in person, but he doesn’t have that diamond-sparkle skin like in those Dracula movies," she says.
"He’s a very disciplined, very serious, very ambitious, very organized actor."
Well, that's something.
And we have to agree with Uma. By the looks of things, her awkward phase is definitely over.
