Jessica Simpson Launching Fine Jewelry
Jessica Simpson's fashion empire just got a lot bigger ... and blingier.
The enterprising singer has signed on as a celebrity licensee with Firestar Diamonds, and will launch the Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend collection for Zales in October, Women's Wear Daily reports.
Designed for "every woman," and catering to a variety of budgets and tastes, the fine jewelry collection will range in price from $79 (for a sterling silver cross) to $999.
Encompassing bangles, rings, earrings, pendants, and bracelets in gold, silver, and diamonds, the line will include a feminine heart necklace (shown left) coated in white gold studded with tiny diamonds and inspired by the loops in Simpson's handwriting, which will retail for $199.
"Jewelry is such personal expression of style and taste," says Simpson, who already has 21 other fashion categories, including denim, handbags, and footwear.
"This collection has allowed me to create pieces that truly reflect who I am, and that can become a keepsake for lifetime. The collection is beautifully crafted. The designs are airy and artistic and so easy to wear."
Calling the diamond-covered, butterfly-shaped rose gold pendant ($199) her favorite item, Simpson adds, "I love that a piece of fine jewelry can be passed down from generation to generation. I cherish the pieces that were given to me, so it is really special to be able to design my own."
“Jessica Simpson is viewed as the girl next door, and our guest is a midmarket guest and we believe she is someone that they can identify with," says Theo Killion, CEO of the Zale Corp. "She has great reach and great power across a number of different categories, so doing a diamond fashion collection made perfect sense."
And let's not forget her upcoming nuptials. Girl must know her rocks!
