Here comes the groom!

Waving his white-gloved hand at the mobs of onlookers, Prince William made his way into Westminster Abbey in a Colonel of the Irish Guards uniform.

William’s wedding wear consisted of a red jacket with a four-button arrangement, reports ABC News. Each button features the Harp of Ireland surmounted by the Imperial Crown.

The Duke of Cambridge’s gold and crimson sash includes gold sword slings (but no actual swords), and the second sash features the Wings of the Royal Air Force and the Garter Star, traditionally presented to the highest order of knighthood. The finishing touch? A Golden Jubilee Medal, celebrating his grandmother’s 50th anniversary as Queen.

According to the L.A. Times, William’s hat features the Irish Guards’s insignia—an eight-pointed star of the Most Illustrious Order of St. Patrick—and includes the regiment’s motto, “Quis separabit?” Translation: “Who shall separate us?” Aww!
