Kate Hudson’s Engagement Ring
Another Kate will soon be walking down the aisle.
Kate Hudson, whose second child is due this summer—she has a son, 7-year-old Ryder, with ex-husband Chris Robinson—is engaged to Matthew Bellamy, the Muse rocker she’s been dating for almost one year.
The actress kept her engagement under wraps for about a week, but with a stunning sparkler on her ring finger, someone was bound to notice eventually—and that honor went to Matt Lauer on the Today show.
In the middle of an April 27 interview about Hudson’s new film, Something Borrowed, Lauer stopped and asked to see Hudson’s hand. “Is this new?” he asked. (Check out a close-up of the gorgeous diamond at about 2:40 in the video above!)
“It’s new! I’m engaged!” Hudson laughed. “I’m so glad you noticed! I haven’t announced it. The announcing thing seems so silly, so I was just waiting for somebody to notice!”
“He’s a beautiful man, and I’m excited,” she said of Bellamy.
In her recent InStyle cover story, Hudson alluded to possible nuptials. “I wouldn’t count it out,” she said in the magazine’s May issue. “A wedding is a beautiful thing—and I love the idea of two people celebrating their love and bringing their families together—but Matthew and I kind of skipped that part and went right to the good stuff!”
