Brad Pitt for Chanel No.5 – More Details Emerge
Hey may be engaged to (arguably) the most beautiful woman on the planet, but Brad Pitt’s the one with the big-deal beauty contract.
The hunky actor has been cast as the first male face of Chanel No.5, and new details are surfacing ahead of the campaign’s October 15 launch.
Director Joe Wright (Pride & Prejudice, Atonement, Anna Karenina) has shot Pitt’s commercial, while Sam Taylor-Wood has lensed the accompanying print ad, Women’s Wear Daily reports.
In the ad, Pitt—who is thought to have been paid a staggering $7 million for his participation—addresses the camera as though he’s speaking to a woman, though it’s later revealed he is talking to the scent itself.

“To keep a legend fresh, you always have to change its point of view,” explains Andrea d’Avack, president of Chanel Fragrance & Beauty. “It is the first time we’ve had a man speaking about a women’s fragrance. We think very much that the perfume is a seduction between a man, a woman and the perfume. No.5 is our leading fragrance, and we are willing to make the investment to keep it on that level.”
Normally we’d be thrown off by a guy who speaks to inanimate objects, but we think we’ll make an exception for Mr. Pitt.
