Watch a Preview of Christian Louboutin on Chiara Clemente's ‘Beginnings’

Chiara Clemente has turned her auteur's eye to the City of Light for the latest installment of her Sundance Channel series, ‘Beginnings.’

The director and daughter of artist Francesco Clemente has been highlighting different fashionable cities through her lens. The show's previous season featured notable New Yorkers, including Carolina Herrera and Yoko Ono.

The new season, which begins today, will spotlight a quintet of notable Parisians, including Christian Louboutin, Charlotte Gainsbourg, perfumer Frédéric Malle, Persepolis author Marjane Satrapi, and Sylvia Whitman of the famed Shakespeare & Company bookstore. In Louboutin's segment, he pads around the city in his signature spiked loafers, while telling the story behind the origin of his trademark red soles. Meanwhile, Malle, who refers to himself as a perfume "publisher," offers a window into how a fragrance gets created.
