What minimalism? When it comes to spring shopping, we’re banishing our sleek camel coats to the back of the closet and embracing all things patterned.
Whether it’s bright florals from Dolce & Gabbana, preppy primary stripes from Marc by Marc Jacobs (it’s Michelle Obama approved—she recently wore the same dress!), or sweet Sandra Dee–esque gingham Louboutins, the playful mix of prints currently in stores has us itching for the sunny days ahead.
Want to keep it classic? Try adding one printed piece, like a brightly striped Fendi bag or leopard-print sunnies, to an otherwise monochromatic ensemble. If you’re feeling braver, we suggest mixing things up with clashing prints—but keep them in the same scale and color family to avoid looking like you got dressed in the dark.
