Looks from the Michael Kors Fall 2012 runway

Michael Kors

Michael Kors is the man with the Midas touch. Not only did Kors show a 27 percent stock price leap yesterday, he had an amazing show today. Kors does American Sportswear with clean sophistication and glamour. This season he made it “ruggedly elegant” with buffalo check blanket wools, gutsy knits, leather, and fur for all those American and not so American beauties he dresses. (See the full collection.)

Looks from the Lyn Devon Fall 2012 collection

Lyn Devon

It’s all about love in the winter for Lyn Devon. A romance in the park, holding hands while walking down the street, and getting married at city hall. Devon chose “kiss me colors," like rose, pink, and lilac, textures such as angora and mohair, and feminine shapes to define her New York love story. Easy pieces that everyone must have for their wardrobe. I definitely do!

Looks from the J.Mendel Fall 2012 runway

J. Mendel

J.Mendel had one of his best collections this Fall. Several different things inspired him, starting with the metallic lining of his mother’s Courrèges suit, which you can see on arms and trimmings of dresses, as well as the fabulous booties in the show. He was also inspired by the mosaic work of Gaudi in Spain, which you can see on sheer gowns and chiffon dresses. He introduces his first ever handbag in the house’s history, a crocodile bag with mink and alpaca fur lining, which incorporates the peek-a-boo effect of luxury and surprise. Hopefully this is just the beginning of more bags and accessories for J.Mendel. I can't wait to see more!

Looks from the Angel Sanchez Fall 2012 runway

Angel Sanchez

Angel Sanchez showed his first runway collection at the Hotel Americano. This season he pulled out, like a magician pulls a rabbit out of a hat, some of the dresses that his fans have been waiting for him to make. He broke out of his mold and showed the curvy, form fitting, sexy, beautifully made dresses that he’s built his reputation around. Retailers will be excited about this collection.

Looks from the Reed Krakoff Fall 2012 runway

Reed Krakoff

Reed Krakoff found the waist this season. This has made his Fall 2012 show slightly sexy in his signature minimalistic style. Reed continued to do what he does best and showed killer coats, great daywear, and of course his bags. (See the full collection.)

Looks from the Marchesa Fall 2012 runway

Marchesa

How does one begin to describe a collection, where every single dress is just as beautiful as the next. Marchesa’s Fall collection took their inspiration from William Adolphe Bouguereaus' famed portrait, “A Soul Brought to Heaven.” As I was leaving, Georgina’s brother, Edward said to me, “ Choose your pick.” Impossible!!
