Looks from the Tory Burch Fall 2012 runway

Tory Burch

Tory Burch’s collection for Fall is a prim girl that every once in a while wants to walk on the wild side. She showed buttoned up cardigan jackets worn with ruched chiffon, fitted skirts that have a sexy edge. In another look, the girl is wearing leather pants, a sequined bow blouse, and a boxy jacket. There’s a sensuality about the way she dresses. Throughout the rest of the collection, Tory delivered ladylike and polished looks that she is known for. (See the full collection.)

Looks from the J.Crew Fall 2012 collection

J.Crew

J.Crew’s Fall 2012 collection was all about sequins and knits, luxurious materials, and Jenna Lyon’s signature style of mixing it up. I’m always so wowed by the way J.Crew puts everything together and makes it look luxe at an affordable price. (See the full collection.)

Looks from the Badgley Mischka Fall 2012 runway

Badgley Mischka

The 1927 film Metropolis—a black and white film about a futuristic city—inspired Badgley Mischka. They showed a lot of black with a shot of rose, gold, teal, bronze, and emerald green. This season’s silhouette was much longer and leaner than the past and had their socialites and celebs lusting for most of the looks.

Looks from the Vera Wang Fall 2012 runway

Vera Wang

Vera Wang’s sheer fabrics and cathedral prints stood out in her collection. Her clothes had a distinct architectural feel that was soft and flowy, paired with super, structured outerwear. This collection had some beautiful pieces in shades of cornflower blue, bright orange, grey, and camel, but can only be worn by a few. (See the full collection.)

Looks from the Naeem Khan Fall 2012 runway

Naeem Khan

Naeem Khan’s show was filled with beautiful cocktail dresses, caftans, and gowns that were inspired by his native India. The concept of swirl motifs from traditional Indian body art, bindis, and paisley design in fabrics was what the collection was based on. There were plenty of sexy red carpet and party dresses, which Naeem is becoming known for. Lots of celebrities—such as Padma Lakshmi, Ahna O’Reilly, and Kristen Chenoweth—came backstage to congratulate him and are excited about wearing his clothes.

Looks from the Dennis Basso Fall 2012 runway

Dennis Basso

Dennis Basso’s Fall 2012 collection was going for high voltage glam made for high octane travel. His girl was going somewhere and it was first class all the way. Cashmere, fur, streamlined gowns, and fur bags to die for. This has been Dennis Basso’s best collection yet.

Looks from the Oscar de la Renta Fall 2012 runway

Oscar de la Renta

Oscar de La Renta’s show was a girly girl’s dream. It was filled with luxury items that you would expect from Oscar de la Renta, such as, silk taffeta skirts, beaded encrusted silk tulle dresses, pants, and sweaters, jeweled headbands, “bijoux pendant” printed silk fabrics, jewel encrusted shoes and shoes with bows. The colors on the runway came in pearl grey, light blues, and pinks. Watching the looks go down the runway, they were like perfect, petit confections in a box. (See the full collection.)
