He may have just opened a standalone store for his contemporary-priced line Cut 25, but luxury is where Yigal Azrouël’s heart is. Case in point? The designer showed lots—really, lots—of buttery leathers, plush furs, python, and luxe fabrics like cashmere and jacquard in his Fall 2012 collection, which was inspired by French singer and fashion icon Francoise Hardy.

There were straight leather skirts and covetable cable knits, easy long-sleeved dresses and the menswear touches—like several perfect overcoats—that Azrouël’s become known for.

Azrouël’s color palette was rich—burgundies and deep greens, with subtle leopard prints, a standout python jacquard, and a cozy-looking fair isle cardigan—and silhouettes were streamlined and free of fussy details for an easy, effortless sexiness. What more could a girl want?
