Costello Tagliapietra Fall 2011 Review » |
At the Costello Tagliapietra show, Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra sent out a collection that was familiar—the silhouettes were reminiscent of their previous collections. But this in itself was comforting. After all, gorgeous, body-skimming dresses, draped just so on the body are what these boys do best. Why change that?
For Fall 2012, the color palette was decidedly autumnal, with browns, reds (oxblood anyone?), and blues creeping over the body in stripes and yes, florals. That print isn't just for spring anymore. The dresses were ruched in the middle, which some of us will appreciate. (Camouflage.) Backless gowns and wrap dresses were just so effortless, you almost felt relaxed this first day of Fashion Week. Almost.
