It's time for Nicole Kidman to let her hair down.

Cue a gorgeous cover for the November issue of Harper's Bazaar, which sees the Australian actress going for gold in an Emilio Pucci halter-neck gown paired with a Cartier cuff.

Posing for Terry Richardson, Kidman also dons a printed Dior dress for one racetrack-set shoot (hello, Days of Thunder!), and hits up a monster truck rally in designs from Versace, Oscar de la Renta, Missoni, Chanel, Balmain, and more. No denim cut-offs and crop tops for this gal!

And though she looks like she was born in a couture gown, the star of the upcoming The Paperboy says that dressing for the red carpet is trickier than it looks.

"I find standing and posing for photos very awkward," she admits, adding that she sometimes gets makeup on husband Keith Urban's tuxedo. "I make sure to wear comfortable dresses, because I want to be able to go out afterward and, you know, bend."

She's also more accepting about her so-called figure flaws these days.

"I've always had a little belly," she tells the magazine. "I mean, now that I'm 45, they don't say, 'Oh, she's pregnant!' as much. But I've got skinny arms and legs, and then I've got a little belly."

Could have fooled us! Kidman credits Urban for this confident new attitude, particularly after years of feeling 'deeply shy' while joining then-husband Tom Cruise on the red carpet.

"In those early years, it was like, 'I'm here and I'm clutching onto your arm, and it all feels a little overwhelming and really strange,'" she says of stepping out with Cruise. "And I was shy. Deeply shy. I didn't feel comfortable at all. But I felt very comfortable at home."

"He [Urban] just gave me confidence through just being very kind to me and understanding me, opening me up to trying things, my sexuality, those sorts of things—I need protection. Everyone wants to feel someone's got their back."

She adds that the recent Cruise-Holmes divorce is "not really a part of my life," and seems more than content with her relatively calm life with Urban and their two young daughters.

Let's hear it for second acts!
