Fresh from their September issue featuring a meat dress-loving Lady Gaga in a pink, but more staid ensemble, the venerable fashion mag doesn't shirk on the drama for October: Keira Knightley.

The newly-engaged actress (and Chanel beauty) takes to the pages of the latest issue in equal parts couture and Anna Karenina finery.

Knightley chats with interviewer Amanda Foreman about where she and fiancé James Righton will spend their first Christmas (“I have no idea; it’s a massive question”) and her ideal roles (“I’m not really interested in the kinds of women who just take off their clothes or have a sex scene and then say something cool”), while friend Sienna Miller attest to her style and grace.

“I don’t think she was particularly interested in fashion back then,” Miller speaks of Knightley's budding actor days.

My, how far she's come.

Check out the issue on newsstands September 25, or visit Vogue.com for the full story.
