Philanthropy in Fashion: Nine West Runway Relief Enlists Models to Combat Breast Cancer
Now in its third year, Nine West Runway Relief is raising funds for breast cancer awareness and prevention with a little help from some models.
The program tapped models—including Chrissy Teigen, Elsa Hosk, Ajak Deng, Jessica Gomes, Ariel Meredith, IIona Novacek, Catrinel Menghia and Elena Melnik—participating in Spring/Summer 2013 Fashion Week for the effort. Every step the strutters take at castings and fittings yields a certain donation given to the cause.
Nigel Barker snapped the kick-off, where Kate Young styled the ladies.
You don't have to have supreme genetics to get involved though.
Customers can make a donation at Nine West stores until October 31, and you can nab a couple of items from the retailer's Runway Relief collection, with proceeds going back to the cause, as well.
