Zero + Maria Cornejo Resort 2012 cacoon jacket with perforated leather

Allow me to be completely biased for a moment—I love Zero + Maria Cornejo. I covet her dresses and prints, and yes, I cheer when I see the First Lady wearing her. So naturally I was happy to trot on over to the showroom to see her resort collection.

What sets Cornejo apart from other designers are her prints. She makes the most unique prints out of photos she takes—of water, flowers, floor tile. The result is incredible. Combine this with interesting shapes and flowy design that fits nearly any body type, and you can see why she's an editorial favorite.

glittery top tuxedo cape DKNY holiday collection

In case no one else has mentioned it to you, dear readers, it's hotter than Hades in New York right now. So of course I'm looking at more holiday clothes. All this seasonal dysfunction really gets to a girl. Today I headed off to DKNY, where room upon room of glitzy dresses, jackets, and tops awaited me.

We all know how I feel about tuxedo jackets, but what about a tuxedo cape? Oh yes, DKNY went there and I'm loving it. It's a fresh take on the classic, while still looking elegant.

Club Monaco

Happy holidays, everyone! What's that? It's not a holiday? Well, pardon me for being confused, again. Clearly the heat's getting to me.  Along with the resort collections, brands are showing holiday. Yes, there is, in fact, a special collection of clothes for the holiday season. Think sparkly, evening, and generally warm and cozy pieces.

Today at Club Monaco I got a sneak peek at both holiday and resort. The resort options were slim but adorable—nautical striped tops, rompers, and dresses. The holiday collection was far more robust. Naturally, I went first to the tuxedo jacket. A girl can never ever have too many tuxedo jackets. Words to live by, ladies.
