Rachel Zoe is going to die when she hears what became of onetime assistant Brad Goreski: The bespectacled and bow-tied former star of The Rachel Zoe Project has gotten himself a gig with Kate Spade New York.

According to E! Online, 33-year-old Goreski—who amicably parted ways with stylist/designer Zoe last September—will be a style consultant for the Kate Spade Fall 2011 runway show during New York Fashion Week next month.

“The clothes are very playful and energetic with a modern feel, which is very much in tune with my own style,” good-natured Goreski tells E!. “I’m excited for this opportunity!”

Says Kate Spade president and creative director Deborah Lloyd, “I am thrilled that Brad is working with me. We both love to see people have fun with fashion!”

Somewhere out there, Zoe is going bananas.
