Jennifer Lawrence steps out in Dior.

Jennifer Lawrence has landed the role of a lifetime—and no, we’re not talking about playing Katniss Everdeen.

The 22-year-old actress has been revealed as the new face of Dior, and she will star in the Miss Dior handbag campaign for Spring 2013.

“Her youth and her classic beauty, but also the feminine strength and complexity that she can portray at such a young age are, for me, very unique and very appealing,” creative director Raf Simons says in a press statement, adding that he first discovered the star through her action roles.

“I’m very excited at the idea of working with Dior and wearing Raf Simons’ new creations,” Lawrence adds to DiorMag. “His debut ready-to-wear and haute couture have distilled all the glamour of Dior into the modern era.”

It is presumed that the Vogue U.K. cover star—who sat front row at the label’s Spring 2013 show—will replace current Miss Dior frontwoman Mila Kunis, who was hired during Dior’s post-John Galliano period.

Though it’s been reported that Marion Cotillard will continue working with the label as the face of Lady Dior, it will be interesting to see what other changes Simons implements as he asserts his new influence. Fingers crossed Charlize, Natalie, and Karlie are safe!
