Helen Gurley Brown, the former editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan who brought sexual empowerment to women in the 1960s, died today at age 90.
According to a spokeswoman at Hearst, Brown was briefly hospitalized at New York Presbyterian Hospital before passing away early this morning.
Though she stepped down as editor in 1997, Brown remained a definitive voice in the world of Cosmopolitan (she reportedly continued to go to work everyday up until her death) — and certainly in our day-to-day love and sex lives.
Where would we be without the 99 secrets to wowing him in bed?
