Kate Middleton’s wedding dress will have sleeves, according to designer Bruce Oldfield.

Forget zipping it or buttoning his lip—designer Bruce Oldfield, rumored to be the man making Kate Middleton’s wedding dress, is finally speaking out about what the bride-to-be will wear when she says “I do” to Prince William.

“It will have sleeves. It has to have sleeves,” Oldfield told Good Morning America of Middleton’s anticipated wedding wear, without confirming or denying that he will design the gown for her April 29 nuptials.

“You can’t walk down Westminster Abbey in a strapless dress. It just won't happen. And it has to suit the grandeur of that aisle—it's enormous.”

Oldfield, who acknowledged that he will dress a “huge amount” of people at the royal wedding, adds that Middleton will definitely wear a veil.

“That was, to me, the most poignant part of Diana’s wedding, as she was walking up the aisle and her eyes were going left to right, looking at people and smiling the way that Diana did,” he said. “And that diamond tiara glittering like mad—that was great.”

Middleton’s mother, Carole, and sister, Pippa, were spotted at one of the Oldfield’s London boutiques in January, and while he wouldn't dish up any dress details to GMA, he was happy to gush about Mrs. Middleton.

“I think she’s a very elegant mother,” he said. “I think the mother reminds me somewhat of Carla Bruni. It’s the hair.”

Oldfield, whose designs have been worn by royalty and celebrities from Princess Diana to Rihanna, is aware that all eyes will be watching—and judging—when Middleton walks down the aisle in April.

“Nightmare. I think nightmare … Whichever happens, it’s going to be a sharp intake of breath, isn’t it? It’s going to be, ‘Oh my god, what's she wearing?’ or ‘Oh, doesn't she look fabulous!’” he said.

Regardless, Oldfield knows Middleton—who is expected to wear two dresses—will look like a true princess on her big day.

“I think whatever she wears, she’s going to look great,” he told GMA. “She’s gorgeous, she’s slim, she’s elegant, she’s aware of herself. When you see her moving, she’s not a shy, shrinking violet, but she is just a normal, ordinary girl—who happens to have bagged the Big One!”
