John Galliano is facing trial and possible jail time.
John Galliano will go to trial over his alleged anti-Semitic rants, French authorities have announced.
MSNBC reports that the Paris prosecutors office will pursue its case against the dismissed Dior designer, a decision that comes just hours after he issued a statement apologizing for his behavior while at the same denying the claims against him.
The trial is expected to run in "the second quarter of this year" and could result in up to six months of jail time or a fine of €22,500 (around $31,200) for the designer, if convicted.
Meanwhile, Dior has announced that its Fall 2011 show at Paris Fashion Week will go on as planned March 4. The collection will be Galliano's last for the fashion house.
