Kenzo, Maison Kitsuné Named Pitti Guest Designers
Apparently the next Pitti trade shows will be brought to you by the letter K.
Women's Wear Daily is reporting that the guest designers for Pitti Uomo and Pitti W scheduled for January 8 to 11 in Florence, Italy will be Kenzo and Maison Kitsuné .
Kenzo co-designers Humberto Leon and Carol Lim will present their Fall 2014 menswear collection at Pitti Uomo, marking the duos latest major fashion coup in the 10 years since they launched the Opening Ceremony retail chain.
"Florence is an amazing canvas for Kenzo," Leon tells WWD, while Pitti Immagine communications and events director Lapo Cianchi praises him and Lim for knowing "how to create immediate and special things and how to build a world around their work."
Fashion/music label Maison Kitsuné, meanwhile, will host its first official women's presentation as well as an event celebrating the launch.
"During the first conversation with [Maison Kitsuné co-founders] Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki a couple of weeks ago, we ended up talking almost exclusively about the kind of atmosphere they would like to create in Florence for the premiere showing of their women's collection," Cianchi reveals. "It will be a powerful event: for Maison Kitsuné fashion and music express a single, eclectic, and highly rhythmic creative project."
Enough said. One ticket to Florence, please!
