It Exists: A Floor-Length Gown Made Out of Speedos

Usually when we hear the word Speedo, our face cringes as we think of men showing a little too much skin while galavanting on the beach. Eesh.

But when we hear that a floor-length gown made entirely out of Speedos exists, we come runnin'.

Since 2010, sustainable fashion label, From Somewhere, has teamed up with Speedo to repurpose the stretchy swimwear into fashionable garments wearable outside of the swimming pool.

"We wanted to really concentrate on the idea of having a traditional evening gown that mimics sportswear design techniques," designer de Castro said. "The sewing, finishes, and details were constructed as if the dress would also have to withstand swimming, which presented an exciting challenge."

Both de Castro and Taylor focused on the female body in terms of muscle, highlighting areas like the hips and bust line. And while those may be the least muscular parts on our bodies, the dress is a skin-hugging knockout and we would totally go swimming in it — among other things...
