When it comes to selecting a September cover girl, how do you choose between Kate Moss, Lara Stone, and Daria Werbowy?
If you're Emmanuelle Alt, you don't have to. The editor-in-chief has wisely devoted three separate Vogue Paris covers to the supermodels, with photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott capturing each beauty in the same black lace Dolce & Gabbana dress. How economical!
The September issue also marks the magazine's first major makeover since Alt replaced Carine Roitfeld 18 months ago. Along with a design overhaul that includes a cleaner look and new typography, the magazine will feature more features and a new column from illustrator/blogger Garance Doré to help capture the essence of Parisian style.
"All the other Vogues carry a country name," Alt tells Women's Wear Daily. "Vogue Paris is the only one to carry the name of a city. Everyone fantasizes about Paris. It’s the concept of the ‘Parisienne.’ The ‘Parisienne’ is a girl who makes people dream worldwide, rightly or wrongly, a girl who represents a particular style, a taste, an allure.”
Or maybe even three girls?
