Marc Jacobs’ Fall 2012 Campaign Takes Jamiroquai-Style Hats to the Beach
Crochet knits and furry hats may not exactly scream "beachwear," but, hey, who are we to argue with Marc Jacobs?
The designer is shining the spotlight on his oversized furry Stephen Jones toppers (think Jamiroquai meets Dr. Seuss) with a beachy Fall 2012 ad campaign lensed, per usual, by Juergen Teller, Fashionista reports.
Swathed in crochet shawls and paisley prints, models Marie Piovesan and Marte Mei van Haaster keep the sun out with their giant hats. Red lips and ghostly smeared eyeshadow suggest a haunted Helena Bonham Carter/Miss-Havisham-hits-the-beach aesthetic.
A second image hints at the Fall 2012 collection's glitzier nature, with a fuchsia sequined dress (with matching fur hat, of course), metallic shoes, and a fur coat on display.
Anyone else's head starting to break out into a sweat?
