Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen Cover W Magazine
W is known for its couple-themed covers. From that notorious spread of Brad and Angelina playing house to David and Victoria Beckham's desert romp, the title has served up some of the most intriguing duos in recent memory.
For its May issue, the magazine paired up Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen, who co-star in HBO's Hemingway and Gellhorn, airing next month. On the cover, Kidman sports Prada's pastel bodysuit (evidently a must-have item this spring: it's also been spotted on Mila Kunis in Harper's Bazaar's April issue and Lana del Rey in Vogue UK.)
In the Emma Summerton-lensed shoot, Kidman channels the Fifties in a teal Louis Vuitton frock and a lamé gown by Oscar de la Renta, while Owen is dapper in Giorgio Armani suits.

The two chatted with Lynn Hirschberg about their formation as actors. For Owen, it was a role as the Artful Dodger in Oliver! that gave him the acting bug; Kidman was less lucky, getting cast as a sheep in a nativity play. For her, movies were always more inspiring: "The Wicked Witch of the West had the biggest impact on me. When the striped stockings disappeared under the house, I wanted to become an actor."
And according to Kidman, getting into character as Hemingway's war correspondent wife was a rewarding process: "I knew nothing about Martha, but I’ve always been drawn to unique women who are willing to take on the world. The exciting thing about this film is that you see her discovering her nature. At the beginning, she’s a lot of talk. She knows that she’s either got to get her hands dirty and become what she pretends to be or she’s a fraud. In the end, Gellhorn out-Hemingways Hemingway."
The issue hits stands on April 24th.
