Jean Paul Gaultier Unveils Diet Coke Bottles
Who knew soda pop could be so sexy?
After hamming it up in a series of video spots for Diet Coke, new creative director Jean Paul Gaultier has revealed his designer makeover of the beverage's bottles—and boy, are they racy.
Sporting red caps and a flesh-toned background to mimic the human form, the three Europe-exclusive bottle designs feature signature Gaultier touches that are guaranteed to make you blush with every sip: a white and navy Breton-striped tank, a frisky fishnet corset, and a skimpy tattoo-print number that will be released later this summer.
From the sounds of it, the Frenchman will need a jolt of caffeine given his heavy workload. In addition to his Diet Coke collaboration, Gaultier has confirmed that he'll be designing the costumes for Madonna's upcoming MDNA tour. Before that, he'll be staging a runway show—featuring a mix of ready-to-wear, couture, and menswear—in Beijing on May 11, while June 20 marks the début of "The Marriage of Figaro" at the Opéra et Orchestre national de Montpellier, featuring costumes designed by you-know-who.
