Vogue Paris to Launch English Edition?
We like to consider ourselves Francophiles, but the truth is, when we’re between trips to the City of Light our Français can get a little rusty. So imagine our delight at this news!
Vogue Paris tweeted this morning (rather cryptically) that the Emmanuelle Alt-helmed magazine may be coming soon in English.
“France gave the US the Statue of Liberty, now we are taking Vogue.fr to the wider world... get ready for #VogueParisinEnglish,” the tweet—which has set off a #VogueParisinEnglish trend—revealed.
Of course, this also could mean that just the website will get an English translation, but we prefer to believe our beloved glossy might be fully readable to English-speakers soon. Further details have yet to be revealed, but watch this space…
UPDATE: New York Magazine reports that it is indeed just the website that will get the English treatment. While the site won't have original content in English, all of Vogue.fr will be translated beginning April 16, 2012. Looks like we'll have to keep holding our breath for the translated magazine!
