The Cut Editor Amy Odell Leaves for Buzzfeed
Devotees of New York Magazine’s The Cut blog: better add a new site to your bookmarks.
Amy Odell, who has written and edited the blog for the last four years, will part ways with New York after Fashion Week in favor of a less fashion-centric venture.
Odell will join BuzzFeed to helm a new vertical geared towards women, Women’s Wear Daily reports. The vertical is still in the works, but will encompass fashion in a more “expansive” way than The Cut.
“There will be a fashion and style component to it, but that won’t be the whole thing,” Odell told WWD. “It will very much be my voice and my sensibility.”
Odell will report to BuzzFeed editor in chief Ben Smith (who joined the site last month from Politico) and executive editor Doree Shafrir, formerly of Rollingstone.com.
