On the rocks: Sacha M’Baye and Jordan Dunn in the latest Burberry Spring/Summer 2011 ad.
The second installment of Burberry’s rolling Spring/Summer 2011 ad campaign just debuted, revealing Jourdan Dunn as February’s new face.
London-born Dunn and French-Senegalese model Sacha M’Baye were shot by Burberry’s go-to lensman Mario Testino. This month, the campaign revs up with tough biker leathers.
Back on the Brighton Beach pebbles, Dunn and M’Baye look ready for the open road in zippered, quilted biker jackets and second-skin motocross pants.
Dunn also shows off the latest slim, strappy purses. All that’s missing are matching helmets—and a man bag.
Chief creative officer Christopher Bailey was inspired by the original Burberry clothes designed for Britain’s first motorcycle riders at the turn of the 20th century.
In the campaign video, the looks are a bit tougher, with M’Baye in a spiked-shoulder jacket. It’s a sweet roughness, though, as the models grin and romantic Britpop by the Feeling plays along.
Maybe the two traded lucky break stories: After all, Dunn was discovered while shopping at the inexpensive clothing chain Primark, and M’Baye was spotted by a photographer while riding the subway.
