StyleRecovery.com Launches in U.S.
Weren't able to fight your way through the Versace for H&M crowds? There may be another way ...
Europe's go-to resale site for designer clothing and accessories, StyleRecovery.com, has finally launched stateside, and we've got our eyes peeled for any unwanted Donatella designs.
Billed as an alternative to eBay and boasting 60,000-and-counting members worldwide, the site specializes in "recycling" high-end designer wares, with items from Vanessa Bruno, Chanel, Christian Louboutin, Prada, and Isabel Marant currently on offer.
StyleRecovery also claims that 85 percent of the clothes and accessories sold were originally purchased new within the last year.
"I had many nice things in my closet that I didn’t use, and was turned off from selling them on websites like eBay because it’s hard to find an audience who knows the value of the designer items that I love," co-founder Pauline Truchot says in a press release.
"Most of the things were simply not sold or at very low prices. I noticed a gap in this market and decided to create a website and a community that has the same expectations as I do."
While sellers—who are able to create curated member boutiques—are likely to get more value for their last-season Burberry trenches and the like, shoppers can also expect to save up to 80 percent off retail prices.
To get the ball rolling, StyleRecovery is offering its first 1,000 members 10 percent off their first purchase; just use the code "Welcome" (you can thank us later).
