Just days after Anna Wintour gave a strong-worded interview about controversial Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, another industry heavy hitter has publicly denounced the politician.

Santo Versace, the brother of Donatella Versace and member of Italy’s Chamber of Deputies, has announced that he is quitting Berlusconi’s political party, the Wall Street Journal reports.

“I like to work. And in [Mr. Berlusconi’s political party], there’s no need for people who work,” said Versace.

According to the Journal, he will remain a member of the Chamber of Deputies, the lower house of parliament, “but he will no longer caucus with Mr. Berlusconi’s People of Freedom Party.”

Franca Sozzani, editor in chief of Italian Vogue, has also spoken out against Berlusconi, saying that he “gives the impression that Italy is one big casino.”

Whoever said fashion and politics don’t mix?
