Is the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibit headed to London?

Those U.K.-based fans of the late Alexander McQueen—and there are many—were not happy to miss the Costume Institute’s hugely successful exhibition, Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty. But if the Metropolitan Museum of Art has its way, the show may just cross the pond.

While reportedly nothing has been finalized, a statement obtained by the Telegraph reveals that the Met “[has] been in discussion with a number of major venues in London for some time now.”

"Alexander McQueen appreciates the huge amount of interest the public has shown towards the Savage Beauty exhibition,” the statement reads. “Please be assured that an official announcement will be made the moment we confirm our plans for London."

Grazia editor at large Melanie Rickey recently launched a campaign to bring the show to London, saying that “it’s a scandal that it isn’t here.” According to Rickey, the Victoria & Albert Museum has even offered to host the exhibit.

We’d say that’s enough to keep Londoners optimistic.
