Tongue-tied: Naomi Campbell shuts it for V Spain.
Say what you want about Naomi Campbell, but she knows how to laugh at herself.
The supermodel pokes fun at her out-of-control reputation with a restrained (literally) cover shoot for V Spain No. 10, which sees her sporting a neon yellow slash of duct tape across the mouth and green rope binding her wrists.
Shot by photographer Sebastian Faena, the kinky-meets-campy shoot also plays homage to Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar and his 1990 film, Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!
“I'm sure some have wanted to ‘tie me up and tie me down’ and perhaps others wanted to tape my mouth shut,” jokes Campbell, who, fittingly, wears a bondage-inspired Louis Vuitton black leather corset-style top paired with hot pants and high boots.
“But this is something I would only permit for this issue dedicated to Pedro as he always does everything ‘tongue-in-cheek.’ I only know Pedro socially. However, what I have always liked about Pedro is that his films perfectly combine passion, intelligence, and style with a twist of humor—leaving his indelible mark on everything he does. I think that was the essence Sebastian drew upon for our cover photo shoot.”
At least they didn’t go with Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown ...
