Saks FashionFix Flash Sale Site Set to Launch
Looks like there's a new site to add to the lunchtime online shopping mix.
Saks Fifth Avenue is getting into the flash sale game with SaksFashionFix.com, which goes live on August 9. The project will start small, with just five events (each lasting 24 hours) in the first week, and get ramped up to offer multiple sales each day by the end of August.
"We're excited about this phase,” Denise Incandela, president of Saks Direct (which will operate the new sale site), told Women’s Wear Daily. “Consumer behavior is changing rapidly and they're embracing the flash sale market. This is a tremendous opportunity to attract new customers and increase the existing customer's spend [on our site].”
Saks FashionFix won’t be invitation-only, like Gilt Groupe and other flash sale sites, though shoppers will have to sign in as members to get the deals; anyone who’s already on Saks Fifth Avenue’s mailing list will be added to the flash sale list. And while the department store hasn’t released information about the brands that will be available or the typical discount rates, WWD reports that lines like Catherine Malandrino and Elizabeth & James are “representative” of the brands on offer.
