Pretty in pink: The bow-topped, peep-toe pump
Designer Gaby Basora’s signature prints have made her Tucker collection of breezy blouses, dresses and separates a cult favorite, and now she’s expanding her brand further with the launch of a capsule collection of shoes.
Tucker by Gaby Basora, produced in Italy by footwear company Claudia Ciuti, consists of four styles: a round-toe pump with a chunky mid-heel; a peep-toe slingback; a bow-topped, peep-toe pump; and a lace-up stiletto.
"Shoes are my weakness, therefore it was only a matter of when," Basora tells FashionEtc of her foray into footwear. "My day often starts with a pair of shoes. Shoes are powerful. Just as a corset alters a woman's carriage, so do shoes!"
Each shoe will be available in four of Tucker’s famous prints, whimsically titled Ribbons of Notion, Montmartre Flower Garden, Sap Stained Wood, and Floral Powder Puff. And like her ready to wear, Basora’s shoes are meant to be just as free-spirited.

Animal instincts: The lace-up stiletto
"I want the shoes to be worn as the clothes are, [by] mixing prints," she says. "All mixed up!"
The collection, which retails for $364 to $398, will be available at www.tuckerbygabybasora.com at the end of July.
