The life story of Coco Chanel has been turned into numerous books and several films, but lucky Londoners can now catch the ultimate fashion icon on stage—in a musical!

Coco, currently playing at the Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London, follows a 60-ish-year-old Chanel at the height of her design success. Originally written in 1969 by Jay Lerner (with music by André Previn), the illustrious likes of Katharine Hepburn and Ginger Rogers have played the title character in different runs. The ultimate stamp of approval, though? Chanel herself oversaw the production of the musical at the time of its opening.

This time around, the honor of playing the show's heroine goes to Sara Kestelman, a 67-year-old English actress with a long history on stage. Coco runs through June 12, 2011.
