Anna Wintour Speaks Out for Marriage Equality
A laundry list of stylish celebrities have spoken out in support of marriage equality in New York—Julianna Margulies, Lucy Liu, Joan Rivers, Kenneth Cole, and Julianne Moore among them—but now, the cause has gotten a boost from another fashionable face.
Vogue editor Anna Wintour has lent her voice to the cause, recording a video for the Human Rights Campaign Web site, where she sports her trademark bob and the same striped Prada dress and colorful stone necklace she wore on her recent cover of WSJ. magazine.
“I’m Anna Wintour, in support for marriage equality,” she says in the 30-second spot. “As far as I’m concerned, having the right to say ‘I do’ is as fundamental as the right to vote. The time is now; please join me in supporting marriage equality for all New Yorkers.”
