Bryce Dallas Howard has something to shout about: She's the star of Kate Spade's first celebrity ad campaign.
Kate Spade New York is going Hollywood.
The label has cast actress Bryce Dallas Howard in its Spring/Summer 2011 and Fall/Winter 2011 campaigns, marking the first time a celebrity has starred in the company’s ads.
“Bryce is playful, gorgeous and multitalented,” Deborah Lloyd, president and chief creative officer of Kate Spade New York, said in a press statement.
“She embraces and embodies the spirit of our brand. The moment she puts our clothes on they come to life in a new, spirited way.”
For spring, Howard—making her fashion-campaign debut—poses for lensman Norman Jean Roy in a “Year of Color”–inspired shoot set in a Brooklyn loft.
Clutching a bullhorn, the redheaded Hereafter actress goes retro in a ’50s-style, pale-yellow-and-white polka-dot dress accented with playful pops of color courtesy of chunky hot pink jewelry, stacked bangles, yellow heels, and orange and pink cross-body "Scout" satchels.
It’s bold, it’s bright, and it could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Sorry, models.
