Aerin Lauder Launching Fashion Brand, Anna Wintour Advising
Aerin Lauder, granddaughter of the legendary Estée Lauder and the senior vice president and creative director of her cosmetics brand, is reportedly leaving the company to follow a more fashion-focused pursuit.
According to the New York Post’s Page Six, Lauder is launching her own company, a fashion and lifestyle brand that will reportedly include accessories, housewares, china and jewelry, some based on her grandmother’s private collection.
“Aerin wants to be the next Tory Burch,” a source told Page Six. Like Burch, Lauder has some serious backup: Anna Wintour is reportedly consulting on the launch, former NBC Universal CEO Jeff Zucker is on board, and Ebs Burnough, who until April 1 served as White House deputy social secretary, is rumored to be joining the venture as well.
Lauder is currently the third-largest shareholder at Estée Lauder.
“Aerin Lauder is a vital part of the Estée Lauder Companies and the Estée Lauder brand,” said an Estée Lauder spokesperson. “She will continue to have a senior creative role with the brand and will continue as a member of the board of directors of the company. An announcement is forthcoming about her future business plans.”
