John Galliano’s Dior replacement won’t be announced until fall.
John Galliano’s exit from Dior may have been executed in just a matter of days, but finding—or, at least, announcing—his replacement is going to take quite some time and lots of patience.
Though Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci is expected to get the plum position, "reputable sources" tell Fashionista the fashion house won’t make an announcement until the fall.
Part of the reason for the delay reportedly stems from the fact that Galliano—who was forced out following accusations of anti-Semitic behavior—must have his contract legally dissolved before he is considered officially fired.
Additional rumors suggest Galliano may have been "set up" and that bosses are wary of how fashion magazines will react to news of a replacement.
"LVMH doesn’t want any announcement on the future of the brand to overshadow this season," Fashionista reports. "If editors are in a tizzy over Galliano’s replacement, who will shoot Dior for covers? Who will wear it on the red carpet?"
