Lily Cole, Gemma Arterton Model Tees for Climate Week
A big-name label, top model, and Bond girl are coming together for an important cause.
To support this year's Climate Week campaign (running March 21 to March 27), Eley Kishimoto has designed a low-carbon unisex T-shirt emblazoned with a green tree print that will be sold for £10 (about $16) via charity sponsor Tesco in the United Kingdom.
And to give Mother Nature a shot of star power, model Lily Cole and Quantum of Solace actress (and G-Star Raw campaign star) Gemma Arterton are modeling the tees in a campaign shot by photographer Stephanie Smith.
"Our T-shirt design incorporates the ‘tree of life,’ a concept that exists in many cultures across the world," the label says. "In itself, this represents nature and reminds us to look towards a positive future. We worked with a play on an age-old patchwork motif, symbolizing the care and attention that our planet needs, and translating the idea that all life on earth is connected and we should work together to tender our environment."
British model Jade Parfitt, singer KT Tunstall, and The X-Files actress Gillian Anderson also put their stylish stamp on the tees, which encourage shoppers to wash their clothes at a low temperature and hang them to dry.
Hey, we've all got to do our part.
